Wild garlic flowers in the woods near Ightham Mote in Kent.

We went strolling in the Kent countryside today – in and around Ightham Mote. This is the best preserved moated manor house in England.

I recently worked as site agent on the closure and clearance of plastics extrusion factory – not normally my bread-and-butter consultancy (or photography) work, but interesting nonetheless. Sad times.

Stuart, Caroline and I headed for a fish lunch on Cheung Chau praya on Monday and we stumbled upon this outside the Pak toi temple – a Cantonese opera. These are usually cacophonic and this was true to the genre, so we only managed a few minutes before our ear drums were ruptured and bleeding…..

It was another gloomy old day in Hong Kong as Mo and I decided to hit the trams – and travel from one end of the island to the other (almost). We started in Wanchai then to Western Market (classic Edwardian architecture), then North Point and back to Wanchai. Those in the know will realise that this was truly a bone rattling epic. This shot (and perhaps similar ones to follow) was taken in North Point street market – dangling over some long-suffering fish.
We’re in Hong Kong for the Rugby 7’s – the first time in 3o years for me…. It started with (for me) a traditional downpour, but then thankfully started to dry out. Much to the relief, no doubt, of the players who were fumbling and sliding all over the place. Still, better than 1976 when the fire brigade had to be called to pump the rainwater off the pitch before the final!
