One-a-day posting No. 16 – Goodbye from Melbourne. This shot was taken in early January 2007 on our penultimate day in Australia. England and the rain and the dark afternoons beckoned….
One-a-day posting No. 15 – Cockateels. This shot was taken in early January 2007 in the Wilsons Promontory National Park. These guys all congregated on specific trees in the park each afternoon – there were hundreds of them.
One-a-day posting No. 14 – Little Oberon Beach. This shot was taken in early January 2007 at Little Oberon Beach in the Wilsons Promontory National Park. For most of the day we were the only people on the beach – apart from the odd hiker-or-two that walked along the beach on their way back to Tidal River. It was hot, hot, hot – hence Sara’s bikini bottoms and hiking boots!
One-a-day posting No. 13 – Late afternoon at Squeaky Beach. This shot was taken in the late afternoon one day in early January 2007 at Squeaky Beach in the Wilsons Promontory National Park in Victoria, Australia.

One-a-day posting No. 11 – Cracked rock at Squeaky Beach. This shot was taken in early January 2007 near Squeaky Beach in the Wilson’s Promontory National Park. This is the southern-most part of continental Australia – and is stunningly beautiful and protected. Squeaky Beach is so-named because the composition of the sand crystals mean that they “squeak” as you walk across it. Skiers amongst you will recognise the noise – it’s similar to walking on virgin snow.
One-a-day posting No. 10 – Tree fern forest. This shot was taken in early January 2007 just north of the Great Coast Road in southern Australia. It was tipping down with rain and we were taking photos from underneath cagoules and hats, etc…….
One-a-day posting No. 9 – Tree fern forest. This shot was taken in early January 2007 just north of the Great Coast Road in southern Australia. The tree ferns were very abundant in the wild, but these were in a forest park with an elevated walkway through the forest canopy and hence the view from above.
