Hong Kong No 12: Flower market

One-a-day posting No. 12 – Flower Market. This shot was taken in December 2006 at the flower market near Prince Edward Road, Kowloon. The main market was very different to normal Hong Kong markets – no mass hordes, no frenetic haggling and nor any escaping chickens – very civilised. We were particularly dumbstruck by the cleaniness of that market (indeed of the whole territory) – apparently due to a massive HK$5,000 fine for littering that is ruthlessly enforced. Somehow not that same place without the grime and foetid rubbish …….
